4v3 Keep Away Variations

Source:

In this short video, Jamie demos 4 different variations of 4v3 keep away that he utilises with his WLAX athletes. These drills are just a taste of the large bank of coaching content included in the Women's Coaches Training Program.

Drill Description:

0:00 Tight Keep Away
Keeping the players inside a 10x10 yard space or tighter, not moving around, the players get reps at faking, feeding, skip passes, and reading the off-ball defenders in super tight spaces.
0:46 Claremont Keep Away
Here we were playing in a 12x12 yard space and asking the girls to Give and Go with a 2-3 second rule with the ball.
1:33 Pairs Keep Away
Here we played in 12x12 yard space and had the girls work 2man games in pairs simultaneously and the pairs would change with new players working together. This is an amazing way to work on navigating on ball 2man while seeing the off-ball 2man game.
3:03 Crank Passing Keep Away
I love this game! In an 18x18 yard space, we worked on cranking the ball on our passes, looking for skip passes, and learning how to read off-ball defenders. Notice the girls are setting their feet with wind-ups or Dragging with a backpedal to crank their passes.
